26 High-Profile Focus: Multi-Residential
April 2026
Construction Progresses on New 24-unit Mixed-use Project in Milton Square
Milton, MA – Finegold Alexander Architects is working with Oranmore Enterprises LLC and Brenco Construction on the development of the Granite at 440, a new 24-unit mixed-use residential building in East Milton Square.
440 Granite Avenue
Located along Granite Ave. near the Southeast Expressway, the project occupies a triangular parcel previously composed of several smaller, disconnected buildings and properties. The new development brings these parcels together into a cohesive residential community designed to strengthen the streetscape while creating a strong architectural presence at a key entrance to the town.
Designed to support Milton’ s Housing
Production Plan, the project will expand homeownership opportunities and introduce a range of housing options that appeal to empty nesters and young couples seeking to remain in or move to the community. In keeping with the town’ s housing goals, 10 % of the units will be designated as affordable.
Finegold Alexander’ s design responds to the site’ s unique geometry while creating a building that fits comfortably within the surrounding context. The project replaces a collection of aging structures with a residential building designed to reinforce the character of the corridor while contributing to Milton’ s evolving housing landscape.
Sustainability is a central component of the project. The building is designed as an all-electric development, incorporating a range of strategies aimed at reducing environmental impact and supporting long-term energy efficiency. The project includes rooftop-mounted photovoltaic panels, which will generate renewable energy for the building, as well as electric vehicle charging stations.
The building envelope has been designed to achieve high thermal and noise performance, utilizing robust insulation, triple glazed windows and energy-efficient systems to improve comfort while reducing operational

energy use. Sustainable materials with recycled content will be incorporated throughout the project to further reduce its environmental footprint.
Additional green infrastructure features include a second-level green roof, which is designed to help mitigate the

urban heat island effect while absorbing stormwater runoff. The development also promotes alternative transportation with bicycle storage facilities located in the basement.
The project is on schedule to be complete at the end of 2026.
