Corbett explains the Build America, Buy America( BABA) requirements on page 14, and how adhering to those can align successfully with the mission of affordable housing. On page 16, Brown explains that,“ With disciplined design thinking, architects and developers can deliver housing that is beautiful, efficient, and financially sound.”

The Building Trades Employers’ Association’ s( BTEA) 6th Annual Building Trades Recovery Week returns April 27- May 1, continuing its mission to bring the unionized construction industry together to combat substance use disorder( SUD), advance suicide prevention efforts, and promote meaningful recovery and mental health resources across the union building trades community. The week begins with Opening Night in Boston, a complimentary event designed to spark conversation, share personal stories, and break the stigma surrounding recovery and mental health challenges. On page 38 of this issue, read my conversation with John Christian of Modern Assistance, where he shares the challenges construction and trades workers face regarding substance use and mental health, how Modern Assistance is supporting those industry workers, and what employers and industry leaders can do right now to better support their teams.
The Women Who Build Summit returns this spring, bringing together women from across the architecture, engineering, and construction and real estate industries for a day of connection, insight, and inspiration.

The summit features a dynamic program of speakers and panel discussions focused on career growth, leadership, and advancing opportunities for women in the built environment.
