Tarrytown, NY— KBE Building Corporation joined Sunrise Senior Living and project partners on Dec. 10, 2025 to celebrate the official groundbreaking of a new senior living community in Tarrytown.
KBE is serving as the construction manager at risk for the project, providing preconstruction and construction services for the 85-unit, 103,985sf senior living community situated on a 4.6-acre site. The new 3-story building will feature a Modern Georgian architectural style, with exterior materials including shingles, clapboard, brick, and stone.
The community will offer 54 assisted living( AL) and 31 memory care( MC) residences designed to support comfort, wellness, and an engaging lifestyle.
Philip E. Kroskin, head of real estate at Sunrise Senior Living Amenities include multiple dining options, a commercial kitchen, wellness and recreation spaces, and common areas created to foster meaningful connection, daily enjoyment and a strong sense of community.
A key component of the project is the preservation and renovation of the historic
The Historic Goebel House
Goebel House. Rather than demolishing the original structure, the project team is renovating the existing 24,046sf, 3-story building with basement. Renovations include interior upgrades and the addition of a new porte-cochère, allowing the building to seamlessly connect to the new community while maintaining its original character.
“ Senior living communities play a vital role in supporting dignity, care, and quality of life for an aging population,” said Jim Culkin, executive vice president of KBE Building Corporation.“ We’ re proud to continue our longstanding relationship with Sunrise Senior Living on this project, building on a history of successful collaborations rooted in trust, shared values, and a commitment to excellence. Delivering a modern, purposebuilt community reflects the thoughtful approach that defines our partnership.”
Construction is now underway, with KBE working closely alongside Sunrise Senior Living, designers, and trade partners to bring the project to life. Completion of the project is scheduled for 2027.

Keeping
Campus Life Running Smoothly
At Wilkinson Mobile Boilers, we’ re proud to support an esteemed university in Cambridge during a critical boiler replacement project. To ensure uninterrupted heating and domestic hot water across the campus quad, we supplied two 350 HP low-pressure steam mobile boilers, each retrofitted with the Autoflame Combustion Management System.
This advanced system helps the university reduce fuel costs and lower emissions, all while maintaining reliable steam service. With these mobile boilers in place, students, faculty, and staff can enjoy zero downtime during the upgrade— keeping campus life running smoothly.
Our work highlights how smart, temporary solutions can keep essential systems online without sacrificing efficiency, sustainability, or comfort.
