EC Trio Unites as Amara Collaborative

Middlebury, CT – Amara Associates, Amara Engineering and Construction Management Consultants( CMC) have introduced Amara Collaborative, a shared identity reflecting the team’ s collaborative approach to architecture, engineering and construction.
The new identity is built around the idea that projects are clearest when viewed through a single, shared lens. Amara Collaborative brings architectural, engineering and construction perspectives together through its Collaborative Process, designed to provide centralized leadership and a shared framework for decision-making.
“ Amara Collaborative is a natural evolution of who we have become as a team and how we have always wanted to work with our clients,” said Peter Amara, RA, NCARB, principal.“ The name reflects the collaborative nature of our work and our belief that projects are stronger when everyone is working

toward the same vision.”
The same leadership, team and legal structures remain in place, and clients can expect the same services, relationships and technical expertise. The team continues to serve property owners, developers, tenants, builders and other project stakeholders from early concept through design, construction and occupancy. numerous electrical, lighting and fire alarm components for the project, working more than 9,000 hours in its prefabrication facility.
The fire alarm system project, headed by J & M Brown Company Fire Alarm Division Project Manager Paul Healey and General Foremen Alan Mahagan and Jim Heffernan, includes more than 2,150 fire alarm devices, including smoke and heat detectors, speakers and strobes, which tie into the base building fire alarm system. J & M Brown Company also installed the base building fire alarm system at Commonwealth Pier.
The nearly three-year electrical construction project, which began in late summer 2023, was completed as scheduled in June 2026. Fidelity Investments took occupancy of the Seaport headquarters in September 2026, and 2,100 staff members will work full time at the Commonwealth Pier building.
O’ Neil credits project coordination among all trades, led by Turner Construction, as a critical factor in achieving the project’ s scope. Planning and coordinating the electrical crew as it worked concurrently on various aspects of the fit-out across the facility were among the major challenges the team met.
