Middleborough, MA – Dacon Corporation and VMD Companies gathered to celebrate a construction milestone with a ceremonial cross beam signing, marking the continued progress of the indus headquarters. The 96,500sf indus headquarters is being developed to support the company’ s relocation and expansion from Braintree to Middleborough, bringing its operations together in a purpose-built facility. The building will include office space for approximately 50 employees, training rooms, locker room facilities, warehouse storage for building materials, and

dedicated space for complex machinery maintenance and painting, anchored by a 14-bay maintenance and repair shop which will accommodate the oversized trucks and equipment essential to indus’ s pavement repair operations.
The project also required significant site preparation, as the site was a decommissioned cranberry bog. Extensive earthwork was required to bring the site to grade, and dynamic soil compaction was used to address the organic soils and achieve the bearing requirements necessary for construction.
“ We are proud to welcome indus to The Campus at Canopy Drive,” said Phil Down, CEO of VMD Companies.“ This project represents a significant investment in the Town of Middleborough and will bring good jobs and revenue to the community. VMD is pleased to have worked with the town and with Dacon Corporation to deliver indus a modern facility purpose-built for their operations. We congratulate the entire project team on reaching this construction milestone and look forward to delivering additional high-quality facilities to support the region’ s growing businesses.”
“ Forty-one years in this business has taught me that the best projects aren’ t just buildings, they’ re stories. And this one has a story worth telling,” said Kevin Quinn, president and CEO of Dacon.“ Before a single beam could rise, our team had to engineer and transform what was once a cranberry bog into the foundation for a world-class facility. That kind of
challenge is where Dacon thrives, and it’ s a testament to the craftsmanship and grit of every tradesperson, subcontractor, and field team member who showed up every day and made it happen.”
Precast concrete panels were selected for the exterior building envelope, combining structural and architectural elements into a single prefabricated system that allowed for efficient assembly.
In recognition of the milestone, Dacon, indus and VMD Companies also presented a $ 12,500 donation through Dacon’ s Designed with Dignity community giving program to Hannah B. G. Shaw Home, supporting its mission to provide compassionate care and services for individuals and families in need.
