been so helpful with my transition in this position. They have taught me so much about the software we use, tips and tricks to make things simpler, deeper knowledge about structural engineering, and more. They have really created a teaching environment while also giving you the room to do things on your own.
HP: What are you excited to learn or take on next as you keep growing in your role?
GR: I am excited to eventually get to the point where I can take jobs that come in and run with them myself. I get a sense of fulfillment when I do a heavy brunt of the work and it really pays off to see the drawings I create be sent off.
HP: If you could go back and give yourself advice on day one— or speak to another young woman thinking about this field— what would you say?
GR: I think the advice I would give to myself and other young women thinking about going into this field would be to not put so much pressure on yourself. It is okay to not know an answer and it is okay to ask questions. We worked so hard to get to this point and just because you may not know how to do one thing does not mean you are going to get fired and you don’ t belong in this career. www. high-profile. com
