KBE Celebrates Construction Milestone in Pedestrian Bridge Project
Wallingford, CT – Construction is actively underway on a new pedestrian bridge at Choate Rosemary Hall, a significant infrastructure project designed to safely and seamlessly connect the school’ s north and south campuses along Christian Street while also creating a charming and welcoming entrance into campus.

elements. On April 13, an arched wood boardwalk with iron guardrails was lifted into place by crane and set between two stone support structures. This milestone marks a significant step forward as crews continue assembling the core components of the elevated span.
Once completed later this spring, the pedestrian bridge will stand approximately 17 feet tall and extend 66 feet, providing a safe and efficient crossing between adjacent athletic fields and parking areas. The structure features an elevated wooden boardwalk spanning the heavily traveled roadway and connecting to a crosswalk on Rosemary Lane.
Accessibility has been a central priority throughout the project. The bridge will include ADA-compliant ramps to ensure ease of use for all pedestrians. Additional site improvements include porous pavement in nearby parking areas to support sustainable stormwater management, along with enhanced
