St. Ann’ s Home and School Completes Ground-Up Elevator

Methuen, MA— St. Ann’ s Home and School has completed a ground-up accessible elevator and first-floor ADA restroom in its main building at 100 Haverhill Street. Siena Construction served as construction manager and Gorman Richardson Lewis Architects( GRLA) designed the project.

building houses student residences, administrative offices, and classrooms.
The project scope included earthwork preparation and demolition, concrete footings and a foundation wall, foundation waterproofing, and backfill. The team built the new elevator shaft with structural steel framing, concrete slab on deck, roofing, and an exterior brick facade. Additional work included elevator equipment installation, site improvements, and targeted system upgrades.
Inside the building, the new ADA restroom and vestibule entrance feature façade windows and doors, ACT ceilings, carpeting, painting, and new furniture.
The nine-month construction schedule was completed on time and under budget, with the elevator’ s first official ride taking place on December 5, 2025. Because the campus remained fully occupied throughout, safety and logistics planning were coordinated to avoid disrupting the school’ s learning environment.
“ This project was about far more than adding an elevator,” said Karl Halpin, project manager at Siena Construction.“ For the students at St. Ann’ s, mobility and access are essential to their success. Knowing that our work will support their daily learning experience made this building partnership especially meaningful for the entire Siena team.”
